Recommendations & Consultations Module

Turn every consultation into a clear approval path and a knowledge asset for the company.

Legal Affairs needs to communicate with all departments in the parent company and its subsidiaries regarding consultations and recommendations, and this communication usually passes through several levels according to each department’s organizational or administrative structure. When these stages are managed verbally or through scattered messages, it becomes difficult to know where the request has stopped and who is responsible for the next step, while lawyers lose time researching again instead of building on similar previous consultations.

LAWMAX’s Recommendations & Consultations Module enables Legal Affairs to communicate with all departments in the parent company and its subsidiaries regarding consultation and recommendation requests. Each request follows approval stages according to the organizational or administrative structure of the relevant department: from submission, to approval by the requesting department manager, to Legal Affairs accepting the request, to the assigned lawyer providing a recommendation or legal opinion, and finally returning the response to the department manager or employee who requested the consultation. Every consultation and its outcome is retained as a knowledge asset that can be referenced when a similar matter recurs.

What Does the Module Display / Manage?

  • Consultation request data and the requesting department or subsidiary.
  • Consultation subject, classification, and scope of assignment.
  • Approval path: approval by the requesting department manager, then Legal Affairs, then response by the assigned lawyer.
  • Receipt date, expected response date, and current request status at each stage.
  • Documents, meetings, and correspondence associated with the consultation.
  • Approved version of the opinion or recommendation and whether it is internal or shareable.
  • Recommendations and tasks resulting from the consultation, and their return to the requesting department or employee.
  • Confidentiality level and viewing permissions for each consultation.

Questions This Module Answers

  • What previous consultations exist on a similar subject?
  • At which approval stage is the consultation request now?
  • Who is responsible for the next step: the department manager, Legal Affairs, or the lawyer?
  • What opinion or recommendation was issued, and who reviewed and approved it?
  • Did the recommendation result in a task or action, and was the outcome returned to the consultation requester?
